Doris Jean Peeler Brockinton, of North Little Rock, passed away quietly at home after decades of battling Friederich's Ataxia on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. It is with sadness that we say goodbye to the one person who has provided unconditional love and security as she completed the journey to her heavenly home. She was born January 19, 1932 in Pulaski County, Arkansas to the late Jesse Franklin and Gertrude Peeler. She was owner of North Hills Beauty Salon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Melvin Nobel Brockinton; daughter, Brenda (Chris) Aycock; sons, Terry (Marye) Brockinton and Mandel (Carole) Brockinton; her loving brother and sister-in-law, Jesse Calvin "Jay" and Carolyn Peeler; grandchildren, Adam (Kelley), Beau, Laura (Caleb), Mary Grace and Bruce; and great-grandchildren, Summer, Reagan and Carson.
Doris was known for her beautiful smile that she shared readily with all she met, and the strong determination with which she approached the many things that she accomplished in her 80 years. She loved her family with a love that was truly unconditional.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Health Hospice, 11900 Colonel Glenn Road, Suite 2000, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
