Doris Lillian Bennett

Doris Lillian (Smith) Bennett, 95, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away August 26, 2022.  She was born on November 5, 1926 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to the late Miles and Una Smith.

Doris loved reading, working in puzzle books, and jigsaw puzzles.  She looked forward to people coming to her house to visit.  Christmas Eve was her family’s favorite holiday as they enjoyed going to her home, where she had a delicious meal waiting for them.  She was an amazing cook, and her chicken and dumplings were the best ever. 

Preceding Doris in death are her husband, Samuel Bennett; son, Samuel “Buddy” Bennett, Jr.; and her parents.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Janet Barker; grandchildren:  Michelle Easter and husband Jerome, Christi Gillmore and husband Nathan, Cari Cellini and husband Nick, Nancy Kinder and husband Jimmy; great-grandchildren:  Scarlett, Parker, Matt, Christipher, Nico, Lili, Alice, and Nicholas; great-great grandchildren:  Niko, Micah, and Mordecai; and many more family members and friends who love Doris and will miss her always.

Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM followed by burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas.
