Dora Ault Verville, age 95, of Pencil Bluff, died Saturday, January 7, 2012. She was born on December 15, 1916 at Midlothian, Texas, the daughter of Henry Barnabas Eddy and Minnie Cooper Eddy. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carroll C. Ault in 1968; and her second husband, Robert "Bob" Verville in 1995. Formerly of the Pleasant Hill community near Hot Springs, she and Mr. Ault bought a small store in Pencil Bluff in 1955. They operated Ault General Merchandise and eventually built the Dairyette. Many people of the Pencil Bluff area would tell her of the happy memories they have at the Dairyette. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Pencil Bluff. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Bob Fryar of Pencil Bluff; her grandson, Dennis Fryar and his wife, Cindy, of Leander, Texas; her granddaughter, Elaine Lawrence and her husband, Mitchell, of Oden; two great-granddaughters, Sarah Fryar Richardson and her husband, Lance, of Houston, Texas and Rachelle Lawrence Hobson and her husband, Caleb, of Great Falls, Montana; and her brother, Marvin Eddy of Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in the First Baptist Church in Pencil Bluff with Rev. David Rouse officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Interment will be in the Pencil Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Brad Hopper, Wayne Hopper, Ray Lawrence, Tom Ellison, Bobby Galloway and Thurston Coker. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
