Donnie W. James

Donnie W. James, age 55, of Oden, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019. He was born on April 16, 1963, in Mount Ida, the son of William Chapman James and Vonda Dale Whittington. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Hester Whittington; and his brother, Robert James. Donnie was a member of Christian Mission Ministries. He operated a buck saw at Bean Lumber Company for over fifteen years and later worked in construction. He enjoyed studying the Bible, fishing, deer hunting, listening to music, walking and being outdoors. Donnie was a kind, giving soul and always ready to help anyone in need. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Orville Ray and Jackie James of Talkeetna, Alaska; his two sisters, Rhonda Minton of Oden and Regina Jones of Fort Smith; his step-daughter, Deidre James of Newhope; his uncles, Jerome Whittington of Atoka, Oklahoma and Robert Whittington of Mount Ida; his niece, Kelsey Minton of Mount Ida; his nephew, Daniel Minton and his wife, Lindsei, of Mount Ida; and a special great-nephew, Haizyn Minton of Mount Ida. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 23, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Pastor Brent Furr officiating.
