Donnie Cowart, age 72, of Langley, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
He was born on December 10, 1948, in Langley, the son of Wilbur Herchell Cowart and Mildred Risner Cowart. On March 7, 1981, he married Melanie Kay Bentley. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Judy Forrester; and his niece, Angie Breshears.
He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Langley and the Buffalo Gap Masonic Lodge, #484. Donnie was a retired chicken farmer, he enjoyed hunting, was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing and working in his gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Cowart of Board Camp; his son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Tricia Cowart of Langley; his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Austin Nichols of McAlister, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Cole Cowart, Eli Nichols and Ethan Nichols; his brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Dolores Cowart of Langley; three nephews, Jason Cowart, Jordan Cowart and Nick Forrester; two nieces, Gayle Belden and Vicky Vigil; numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 12, 2021, in the Langley Hall Cemetery with Bro. Keith Shewbart officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood.
