Donna Richarme

Donna K. Richarme, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 14, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. She was born January 6, 1934 in Mineola, New York and was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Juanita Person of New York.
Although she was a former real estate agent, her greatest joy and achievement was her loving family - and she was at the center of all gatherings. Married for 59 years, she raised four children - all of whom earned college degrees and went on to work in their chosen fields. She gave her children everything they needed, and some things that they wanted, and taught them the importance of being independent and self-sufficient. She had a way of viewing the world and the people in it with unwavering optimism, and never failed to see the best in her children, her husband, or in her beloved pets. She was a loving wife and mother, and a consistent and constant friend to her family, listening, but only advising when asked. She encouraged her family when they needed a cheerleader, told them hard truths when they needed to hear them, and listened and held their hands when they fell into times of sorrow. Through it all, she never lost her sense of humor, irony, or timing.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Richarme; two sons, David E. Richarme and his wife Coleta; Eric A. Richarme and his wife Lynn; two daughters, Linda L. Billmaier and her husband Mike, and Judith L. Murray and her husband Ron.
She had ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
