Donie "Don" Wayne Berry, a beloved member of the Hot Springs community, passed away at the age of 77 on November 3rd, 2023. Born on January 14th, 1946, Don was a remarkable individual who made a lasting impact on those around him.
Family played an integral role in Don's life; they were his treasured support system. He is predeceased by his parents Ernest Berry and Pauline Wallace-Berry, as well as his brother Doug Berry.
Known for his outgoing and friendly demeanor, Don had the ability to make friends wherever he went; strangers quickly became valued acquaintances simply by engaging in conversation with him. He honorably served in the Army National Guard, exemplifying patriotism, and demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country. He owned and operated Don's Country Butcher for over 40 years. In his free time, Don loved to be outside, camping, fishing, and boating was his favorite way to relax and unwind. Additionally, Don was an avid Razorback fan who enthusiastically supported Arkansas' basketball and football teams.
Don is survived by his loving wife, of 58 years Mary Diggs-Berry. Don's legacy continues through their children: Christopher (Ginny) Berry and Angela Hareness. His siblings, Ancil Berry, Wanda (Carl) Otwell, Brenda (James) Henson, and Sharion (Eugene) Pipkins, also mourn the loss of their cherished brother.
A private family visitation will take place under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
Interment in the Lowe Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to AR Hospice and Genesis Cancer Center for the care given to Don. Also, the Piney Fire Department and Clay Loy for their support and caring for Don.
Memorials may be made to Crystal Springs Church of Christ or The American Cancer Society in Don’s name.
