Donald McDaniel
Donald Maurice McDaniel, age 80, was born January 21, 1931, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Myrtle Franklin and William Harvey McDaniel. He departed this life surrounded by family on July 26, 2011, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was a retired pharmacist for the North Little Rock VA Hospital and previously owned Locust Street Pharmacy in Conway and Meadow Park Pharmacy in Rose City. Maurice was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the Central Baptist Church of North Little Rock. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in May, 1949 and the UAMS College of Pharmacy in 1960. Maurice was a descendant of a strong pioneering family who migrated from North Carolina and settled in Hot Spring County, Arkansas in the early 1800's. Rachel and Maurice married September 25, 1951, while Maurice was home on leave from the Navy. Our family was looking forward to helping them celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in September. Maurice was a man of compassion and integrity who found joy in loving his family and serving his Lord. Our lives are richer for having known him.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Wood McDaniel of North Little Rock; three sons, Jim McDaniel (Barbara) of Stuttgart, Tim McDaniel (Jennifer), of North Little Rock and Philip McDaniel of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Clay McDaniel of Little Rock, Robin McDaniel Coe (Matt) of West Memphis, Ben McDaniel and Andrew McDaniel of North Little Rock; two step grandchildren, Sophie and Max Meyers of North Little Rock; and one great-grandchild, Rachel Lane Coe of West Memphis.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2011in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Wyman Richardson. Burial will be in Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
