Donald Johnson

Donald Paul Johnson, 79, of Winnsboro, Texas, formerly of El Paso, Arkansas died on Friday March 1, 2013 at East Texas Hospice Care in Tyler, Texas. He was born in North Little Rock on October 11, 1933 to Thomas and Della Johnson. After graduation from North Little Rock High School he joined the US Army and served in the Korean War. Don married Geneva Ward on November 19, 1955. Don worked in the insurance business and then went to work for the state of Arkansas until his retirement. After retirement, he became a cattle farmer. Don and Geneva are currently members of the First United Methodist Church of Beebe.

Donald is survived by his wife Geneva Johnson of Winnsboro, Texas; one son, Andy Johnson and his wife Carolyn of Lake Fork, Texas; two granddaughters and their spouses, Tammy (Danny) Plunkett of Emory, Texas and Cheryl (Russell) McSwane of Elkhart, Texas; three great grandchildren, Jacob and Kennedy McSwane and Allyson Plunkett; two sisters, Mary Edwards and Betty Sullivan both of North Little Rock; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Keith Johnson; four brothers, and three sisters.

Family will receive friends Tuesday March 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home at Beebe, Arkansas. Funeral services Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
