Donald “Don” Edward Patrick Hall, Jr., 79, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2023. Don was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. He was born January 10, 1944, to the late Donald Hall Sr. and “Polly” Hall. He is survived by his wife, of 56 years, LaConia “Connie” Rogers Hall; sons, Roger Hall (Kelli) and Scott Hall (Mary); six grandchildren, Stephen Hill (Toya Stewart), Jessica Hill, Tazia Polk (Linwood) Kalia Hall (Foster Perry), Caleb Hall, and Rafe Hall; 6 great-grandchildren, Jamiah Childress, Caiden Polk, Maddison Childress, Alisah Childress, Elex Polk, and Zyon Hill; sister, Geri Anderson; nieces, Angie Byrd and Jenny Pope (Billy); and nephew John Lambeth-Anderson (Becca); and 4 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
Don graduated from Catholic High School for Boys in 1962 and St. Vincent School of Radiologic Technology in 1965. He was in the Army National Guard Medical Unit for 8 years. He worked at White County Medical Center and Searcy Medical Center for over 32 years prior to his forced retirement when he had a stroke at 56-years-old.
Don was a Cubmaster and a Scout Master in the White River District in Searcy. He received the District Award of Merit and the Quapaw Council Silver Beaver Award as a Boy Scouts of America Volunteer. Don worked with the Scouts for over 46 years and was fortunate to have 2 sons and 2 grandsons become Eagle Scouts.
Don loved life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, woodworking (Member of 2 Woodworking Clubs – DSWT and WAA), music (Member of Rackensack Folklore Society), and enjoyed helping others. He has been known as “the man that blew the roof off of his house”. While living in Searcy, he attended the College Church of Christ and was a member of the Optimist Club for several years.
Don spent his whole life devoted to his wife and children. He was a family man who had great love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will leave an empty place in many hearts and will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
We know he is in a heavenly place with Jesus hugging him. He is breathing better and not in pain anymore. Thank you for all the prayers, support and wonderful words about Don. He was an exceptional man.
Please, in lieu of flowers, donate to Boy Scouts Troop 59 by calling the Boy Scouts of America Office at (501) 664-4780 for contact information.
