Donald F. Hobby, age 83, of Pearcy, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020. He was born on August 29, 1936, in Pearcy, the son of Charlie Hobby and Orene Henson Hobby. On December 20, 1957, he was married to Shirley Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was Baptist in his faith, was a self-employed antique dealer for many years, and could always be seen taking great pride in keeping his yard mowed. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley Hobby of Pearcy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Wade and Nalene Hobby of Pearcy and Gregory Lance and Diana Hobby of Bartlett, Tennessee; one daughter and son-in-law, Delana Dawn and Mitch Spivey of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Cody and Aubrie Hobby, Dillon Hobby, Calvin Donald and Morgan Hobby, Colton Hobby, Corbin and Alyssa Hobby, Austin Hobby, Ashley and Ricky Reynolds, Lacy and Drew Short and Logan and Heather Dockery; six great-grandchildren, Crews Hobby, Isabella Reynolds, Jamison Reynolds, Emma Dawn Short, Eden Short and Camila Dockery; one sister, Willodene Donathan of Hot Springs; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. A private family graveside service will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
