Donald Covington

Donald (Donnie) Covington, 74, passed away on July 7, 2018. He was born January 15, 1944 at Hickory Plains to Jesse and Bill Covington. He and his brother owned D&B Dairy and farmed for 50 years. Since retirement, he enjoyed driving the school bus and mowing the church park. He loved hunting, fishing, and riding his four-wheeler. Being the youngest of thirteen children, Donnie treasured family more than anything. His love of family was passed onto his children and grandchildren. Time spent together, making memories with his family was his favorite passed time.

Donnie married the love of his life, Betty Covington on November 16, 1962. They have been best friends for over 55 years. Together they raised four children, nine grandchildren, and recently added four great-grandchildren. Their home has always been full of unconditional love, good home cooked meals, and lots of laughter. They took care of each other no matter what came their way.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Ingle Covington, children; Cindy Stallings (Jerry), Dana Files (Timothy), Daren Covington and Holly Holloway, grandchildren; Chad Stalling (Mallory), Emily and Callie Richard, Jalen and Eyan Holloway, Wyatt Covington and Alisha Lisko, great-grandchildren; Logan and Coen Stallings, Raelynn and Rianna.

Donnie is preceded in death by grandsons Shane Stallings, and Damian Holloway, his parents, a sister and five brothers.

Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8 at Hickory Plains United Methodist Church. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 at Hickory Plains United Methodist Church.
