Don Kuykendall, age 85, of Amity, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. He was born on February 1, 1931, at Sherman, Texas, the son of Calvin Columbus Kuykendall and Atha Grace Lawley Kuykendall. On August 4, 1949, he was married to Reba Joyce Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-great-grandson, Jackson Reece Burr; one brother, Phillip Kuykendall; and three sisters, Yvonne Cole, Katherine Tibbitts and Joyce Cunningham. Don was a member of the Churches of Christ, a World War II United States Air Force veteran and served in Japan. He worked as a foreman on several ranches in Oklahoma before managing the Buzbee 4B Ranch in Allen, Oklahoma. After moving to Arkansas, he owned and operated the Blue Flame LP Gas Company for over thirty-three years. He enjoyed deer hunting and listening to his Running Walker dogs, of which he had fifty-two at one time. Don often said, "I love my wife, my kids and my dogs, and not necessarily in that order." He is survived by his wife, Reba Kuykendall; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sherry Kuykendall; three daughters and one son-in-law, Tanya Deaton, Rhonda and Paul Staggs and Kandy Kuykendall and her fianc, Bill Lemser, all of Amity; ten grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Roger Adrian of Jefferson City, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 28, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Shane Kuykendall, Obie Staggs and Bro. Dennis Anderson officiating. Military honors will be presented at the services in the funeral home chapel by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in White Cemetery, near Amity. Pallbearers will be Kainan Staggs, Cody Kuykendall, Christian Holt, Aaron Burr, Scott Thomason and Jeremy Gould. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Staggs, Bill Lemser, Darrell Welch and Jerry O'Connell.
