Don “Hodo” Fox, age 83, of Kirby, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 2, 1938, in Kirby, the son of Oren Fox and Evelyn Foshee Fox. On June 21, 1958, he was married to the love of his life, Kay Fox. He was preceded in death by three children, Tana Fox Lemons, Jerry Lee Fox and Debra Kay Fox; his parents; and his sister, Wilma Deputy.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Fox; his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Regina Fox; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Barba and George Eickhoff; and several nieces and nephews.
Don enjoyed his family more than anything. He was very passionate with building race cars and spent many years rooting on his teams. He also spent many years working in the log woods that led to him bringing home many critters for Granny to care for. He will always be remembered for being the toughest man with a kind heart.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 21, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Logan Foshee officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Palestine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Deputy, Sean Deputy, Brad Baxter, Eric Walker, Todd Ray and Larry Mack.
