Dolores Rowland

Thirty-nine years ago, Dolores "Shirley" Rowland made a decision that altered the course of her life and the lives of her entire family. Because of her decision to accept Jesus as her personal savior, she was able to leave her cancer-ridden body to go directly into the presence of God on January 20, 2007. Her husband and mother were surely there to greet her.
Shirley was born to Mr. and Mrs. Tom O. Moore on December 24, 1934 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. From the time she began to talk, it was apparent that she had a brilliant mind. Much to her mother's dismay, Shirley wasn't reluctant to argue with her teachers or, later, with her doctors if she knew she was right, which was frequently the case. Her passion for knowledge continued throughout her seventy-two years of life.
On March 23, 1955, Shirley married her husband, Ray Rowland. He was attracted to her beauty and intellect, but most importantly, to her high morals. They had two daughters, Sherri and Shelley.
Shirley was loved by her small family, devoted friends and by the caregiver, Linda Cawley, who was with her when she died. Through Virginia Cross' guidance, she was able to stay in her home, surrounded by the things that were familiar and comfortable.
Her family members include, Sherri, Dennis and Catherine Clay, Joseph and Emily Perrone, Jeremy, Elizabeth and Luke Perrone, and Shelley, Christopher, Matthew and Lauren Clark. The day Shirley went into the arms of her savior, her first great-grandchild was born to fill our arms with love. God is faithful.
