Dollie Mae McMahan Strother age 88 of Friendship died Monday, November 3, 2008 in Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern. She was born January 28, 1920 to Walter Elbert and Dicie Ann McMahan. She was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church, loved her family and enjoyed working in the yard and garden. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Millard Strother; one daughter, Martha Lou Strother; three sisters, one brother, one son-law, Randy Ashley.
Survivors include one son, Pee Wee Strother (Barbara); two daughters, Frankie Boles (Cordell) all of Friendship; Ginger Ashley of Hickory Grove, AR; four brothers, Pete McMahan, Jim McMahan, Louis McMahan and Jack McMahan all of Friendship; one sister, Dorothy Dyer of Phoenix, Arizona; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia with Bro. Kirk Gassman Bro. Hollis McDermott and Bro. Doyle Caldwell officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Friendship. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-law, Gary Boles, Pee Wee Strother Jr., Larry Strother, Shane Ashley, Mike Cansler, Kenney Miller, Joey Stiles and Bobby Brandon. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters, the employees of Malvern Nursing Home, ICU Nurses at Hot Spring County Medical Center and Dr. Ray Bollen.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
