Docia Jones

Docia Jones passed away peacefully on Monday April 8 at the age of 76 after courageously battling cancer.

Docia, the middle daughter of Joy Dell Rhinehart (Gott) and Shelby Gott, grew up with her two sisters Judith and Sheila.   Docia graduated from Hall High School and then San Diego State University (Math).  She later earned degree from UALR (Education) and a masters degree from UCA all while raising her 3 sons with her husband Douglas.  As a teacher in the LRSD she taught hundreds of students Algebra and Geometry.  Upon retirement she enjoyed helping raise her 6 grandsons and spending time with her close friends, sewing and doing puzzles.

Docia had a huge heart and no one left the house without a hug.  She was both strong and compassionate and a self proclaimed “Boy Mom”.  She was also a loyal friend and coworker and would do anything to help others in need.  She had a contagious laugh that everyone loved to hear.

Docia is survived by her 3 sons and their families, Steven, his wife Kelly and Steven’s son Brandon, Randy, his wife Jennifer and their sons, Nicholas and Grant and Stacy and his sons Preston, Alex and Dean as well as her 2 sisters Judith Arthurs and Sheila Allen.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
