Dillon Quattlebaum, 88, of Conway, Arkansas, was born July 10, 1920, in the Royal Hill Community near El Paso, Arkansas to the late James W. and Nettie Johnson Quattlebaum and passed away on March 23, 2009
After graduation from high school in Floyd, Arkansas, he married his beautiful wife Bernice Tedford on December 20, 1939 in Searcy, Arkansas by Rev . Walter Maddox. Dillon and Bernice were married for sixty nine years. Dillon was a farmer at heart and farmed on his father's farm approximately ten years after his marriage. Dillon and Bernice moved to Lancaster, California in 1950, where they lived for twenty seven years raising their three sons. Dillon was employed at Rockwell International in Lancaster and retired after working there for eighteen years. They returned to Arkansas and have lived in Conway for the past thirty two years. Dillon also, retired from Falcon Jet in Little Rock after two years. Dillon and his wife are members of the Central Baptist Church in Conway. Dillon enjoyed volunteering at the church sponsored food bank.
Dillon is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Drexel Quattlebaum and a brother who died as an infant.
Dillon is survived by his wife, Bernice; three sons, Eddie Quattlebaum and wife, Helen of Flagstaff, Arizona, Jerry Quattlebaum and wife, Nora of El Paso, Arkansas, and Philip Quattlebaum and wife, Alba of Auburn, Alabama; one brother, Willie Drew Quattlebaum and wife, Wanda of Romance, Arkansas. Dillon has seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church Food Bank, 3333 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, Arkansas, 72034.
