Dick Cooley

Dick E. Cooley age 80 of Arkadelphia died Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Arkadelphia. He was born July 18, 1927 in Highland, AR. (Pike Co.) the son of Joseph O. and Little Jo Steuart Cooley. Dick was a retired agency manager for Farm Bureau Insurance Co, a retired Fire Department volunteer, a charter member of the Arkadelphia Bass Club, a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner, a U. S. Navy veteran of WW II and a member of Arkadelphia First United Methodist Church where he served as head usher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn M. Cooley on March 22, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, James Richard Cooley and his wife, Susan of Newton Highland, Massachusetts; Joseph Edwin Cooley and his wife Mary Jo of Arkadelphia; four grandchildren, Katharine and Anna Cooley; Matt and Melissa Cooley.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
