Dewey Ray "Dude" Chambers, age 72, of Kirby, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012. He was born on April 28, 1940 in Murfreesboro. He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Chambers; his mother, Verna Cox Chambers Lindsey; his brother, I. J. Chambers; and his daughter, Kimberly Foshee Chambers. Dewey served his country in the Vietnam Conflict as a staff sergeant in the United States Army. He loved the outdoors and fishing. He is survived by his longtime companion, Patsy Foshee of Kirby; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in the Ebenezer Cemetery near Kirby under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Charles Fox, Isaac Fox, Kenny Ray McGrew, Colton McGrew, Boyd Cox and Floyd Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Loy Buck, Steve Holton, Larry Foshee, the staff of the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital, the staff of Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs and the staff of Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
