Annie Dewell Hooten, age 80 of Greers Ferry died Monday, April 6, 2009 at White County Medical Hospital.
Dewell was born on March 13, 1929 in Cleburne County. She was the Librarian for Greers Ferry Library for twenty-five years. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
Services will be officiated by Junior Manes , the funeral will be held at Olmstead Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Olmstead Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cross Road Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter Peggy Wiggins and husband Shorty Wiggins, and a son Jimmy Hooten and wife Darlena Hooten, sisters Imogene McVey, and Irene Stark and a brother Oran Birdsong. She also had four granddaughters and nine great grand kids, with many friends and loved ones.
Those preceded in death are her husband O.B. Hooten, parents Bill and Mary Birdsong, and brothers Charlie, J.W., and Sid Birdsong.
