Desmond Moore

Desmond "Monk" Moore, age 83, of Newhope, died Saturday, October 13, 2012. He was born on February 14, 1929 at Newhope, the son of Arthur Moore, Sr. and Arizona Young Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Johnny Moore and Arthur Moore, Jr. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired forester with Weyerhaeuser. He was a member of the Newhope Church of Christ. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nora Faye and Wade Gadbury of Newhope; and six nephews and nieces, Tony Moore, Penny Kinder, Mike Gadbury, Sandra Young, Anita Pinkerton and Joey Moore. Services will be held at 10:00 AM. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the Newhope Church of Christ with Kenny Fant and Gerald Eaton officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Young, Jeff Tuttle, Brian Tucker, Randy Golden, Brad Garner and Hobie Armstrong.
