Dennis Sherman Colwell, born February 5, 1947 in Roscoe, Texas lived in Sweetwater, Texas until April 8, 1993 and then in Sherwood, Arkansas until June 29, 2022.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Hall Wood “Joe” Colwell, mother Nettie Tollison Colwell Dendy, brother, Bobby Joe Colwell, sister, Glenda Ruth Colwell Davis.
He is survived by his wife Nell Colwell; son, Dean Colwell (Yolanda); grandson, Forest Colwell; granddaughter, Tia Colwell; and great granddaughter, Zaedi Soria. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Ellison (Welton), Patsy Ribble, and Dianne Guidry and numerous nephews and nieces.
Dennis worked in the oil field from the age of 16 until 1965. He then worked for RS&P Railroad in Roscoe, Texas then for Santa Fe Railroad in Sweetwater, Texas until 1979. He then worked for Union Pacific Railroad in Big Spring, Texas then to North Little Rock, Arkansas until 2006 when he retired from the railroad after a total of 36 years.
Dennis’s hobbies and interests include spending time with his family and friends, restoring his antique truck building projects and wood working. He loved animals, birds and nature in general. He was a proud DALLAS COWBOYS fan!
Visitation will be at 10:00AM Friday, July 8, 2022 at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship (7351 Warden Road) with a memorial following at 11:00AM.
