Demetrios Nick Manitzas was called home to the Lord on December 1, 2023, peacefully at his home.
Known as “Nick” by friends and as “Jimmy” when growing up in San Angelo TX, with siblings Marie, Mary, Frank, and George; he was the son of Nick and Sofia, Greek immigrants.
Nick was a career employee of the US Postal Service for forty years and a Petty Officer in the US Navy, where he learned to play cribbage and dominos, which he taught his children, and which his grandchildren play, and was an avid golfer in his younger years.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Jonnie Woods Manitzas, (they always told each other “I Love you more!”) and her daughters Lisa Cingolani and Patti Benight; and his children Louis, Sophia and husband Dennis, and son Nick (deceased) and wife Donna; grandchildren David, Matt, Nick, Alex, Ali, Sarah, Paul, Jon Tyler, Nicky and Luke (deceased); and great grandchildren Noah, Joy, Gabriel, Amelia, Elianna, Charlotte, Isabella, Reagan, Samuel and Leah, and Peyton, his dog and best bud.
Visitation will be from 6:00PM-8:00PM Monday, December 11, 2023, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home (1921 Main Street) with prayers at 6:30PM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (1100 Napa Valley Drive) with burial following at 1:00PM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery (North Little Rock).
