Deborah (Debby) Lynn Monroe 66, passed away in North Little Rock, Arkansas on Friday, December 29, 2023. Debby was born to James Leon (Jay) and Gloria Germaine Robison in Phoenix, Arizona on September 28, 1957. In addition to her parents, Debby was preceded in death by her grandmother Vivian Swain, brother Jay Michael Robison, and former husband Allen D. Monroe, as well as her other grandparents and her Uncle Bob Robison.
Debby is survived by her nephew Jay (Robby) Michael Robison, Jr. and his wife Lisa, and niece Neely Ann Kimbrell and her husband Andy and their children Rava, Remi and Rossi, and sister-in-law Sandra (Sandy) H. Steele and her husband Tom.
In 1963 Debby and her family moved to North Little Rock, Arkansas for her father’s employment with Travelers Insurance Company as an engineer. Debby’s mother was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and her parents met while her father was serving in the US Navy. There was a proud Cajun influence in the family. Debby was a loving daughter and cared for her parents in their elderly years. After graduating from high school, Debby attended two years of college and started a career with the Arkansas Army National Guard as a full-time Federal Technician at Camp J. T. Robinson.
Debby married Allen Monroe, who was a pharmacist, and although their marriage did not last, it was a happy one and they remained friends until his death. Debby made her home in Sherwood, living in the same house for 38 years. After retirement from the Arkansas National Guard, Debby helped in the family-owned business of CLA Grills & Service for 10 years as a key person dispatching customer service emails and assisting customers over the phone. Debby was a loyal member of St. Anne Catholic Church in North Little Rock and she often volunteered at church events.
One of Debby’s greatest loves was her Dalmatian dogs which started as a youngster until losing her last Dalmatian in 2021. By the spring of 2022, Debby opened her home to two white rescue dogs Bessie and Bubba, providing them with all their needs as Bessie and Bubba gave Debby round-the-clock companionship. Another of Debby’s great loves, her girlfriends of many years with lots of bonding, laughter, and memories of good times. Debby will be dearly missed by Sharon Relic, Cheryl Briggs, and Tonya Dill (Patty Bonds passed away in 2021). They described Debby as thankful, positive, and willing to listen. Sharon said Debby was her sister in three ways: Sister of friendship always, Sister of Army Service together, and Sister through Christ our Lord, our religion that we believe in Jesus who died on the cross to save us.
