ROYAL DEAN MOFFITT
On January 10, 2022, Royal Dean Moffitt opened her eyes to the wonders of Heaven.
Born November 6, 1933, in Des Arc, Arkansas, to Malvin and Quilly Stallings, Dean was the oldest of three children. She grew up in Brinkley, Arkansas, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Clint âBuddyâ Moffitt. Clint made a career in the Air Force and Dean became a devoted military wife. She was very good with numbers and made her career as a bookkeeper for several Ford dealerships. She and Clint were blessed with three children: Marty, Edward, and Scott.
Dean loved gardening, knitting, painting, butterflies, but most especially, family gatherings. She was a very petite lady who knew what she wanted and did not let a teachable moment pass for her children and her grandchildren.
Dean is survived by her daughter, Marty Hamric, of Cabot, and her son, Ed Moffitt, of Greenbrier, and her sister, Bettye Carvell, of Grapevine, Texas. Affectionately known as Momma D, she leaves behind five grandchildren: Brooklyn Madding, Jonathan Hamric, Andrew Moffitt, Tyler Hamric, and Victoria Smith and their spouses, as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Dean is preceded in death by her husband, Clint, her son, Scott, her brother, Ron Stallings, and her parents.
Mother, you have reached the end of your journey on earth. You know that the end is better than the beginning, for you have taught your children and grandchildren strength and courage to walk without you. You will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at the 16th Section Cemetery in Austin, Arkansas. Rev. Debbye Harrison will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are by Griffin Leggitt Conway Funeral Home.
With grateful hearts, the family thanks the owners, staff, and family of Seeds of Love of Greenbrier for taking such good care of our mother for the past five years. You made it her home where genuine love was given every single day.
