Deacon Johnson S. (Matt) Mattingly, 92, of Little Rock, passed away November 27, 2011. He was a Deacon of the Roman Catholic Church, Diocese of Little Rock and a long-time member of Christ the King Parish. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was a member of Serra Club International.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Headrick Mattingly; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann Mattingly and Douglas A. Carson of Anchorage, Alaska; sons and daughters-in-law, Ted A. and Carol Ann Mattingly of Texarkana, Texas and Don E. and Virginia Mattingly of Plano, Texas; two granddaughters, six grandsons, four great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Vigil Service with visitation following will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham, officiated by Deacons John "Bo" McAllister and Don Greenway. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 2 at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Francis I. Malone as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway.
