David Woodard

David O. Woodard, 70, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009. He was a Southern Baptist Pastor of churches in Arkansas and Louisiana, including Immanuel Baptist in Conway, Macedonia Baptist in Kilbourne, Louisiana, Pine Grove Baptist in Bastrop, Louisiana, Goodwill Baptist in Goodwill, Louisiana and Beulah Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Louisiana. He was also a Deputy Sheriff in West Carroll Parish in Louisiana. David volunteered his time at the East End Fire Department and East End Elementary School, Pulaski Baptist Crisis Closet and at East End Baptist Church where he was a member. He was a lifelong fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Arkansas Travelers and the Sheridan Yellowjackets. Rev. Woodard was a proud member of both the East End Café Breakfast Club and the East End Shell Coffee Crew.
David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Ann Woodard; son, James David Woodard; daughter, Sheryl Ann Angel (Nathan); sister, Jean Butler; grandsons, Austin and Sam Angel; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, March 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Services will be held on Friday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m. at East End Baptist Church, 4701 East End Rd., Hensley, officiated by Bro. Ron Sanders. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery at East End.
Memorials may be made to East End Baptist Church's Golden Hearts Ministry or to the Salem Cemetery.
