David Siebert

David August Siebert, 81, of Little Rock passed away on March 17.  He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Mildred and Siegfried August Siebert and his family moved to Little Rock in 1944.  David was a renowned Contract Bridge Player, a Grand Life Master, and was ranked 40 th in the United States.  He traveled the world playing and teaching Contract Bridge and served as Bridge Director on many cruises.  Travelling to Bridge Tournaments was a big part of his life and he also travelled with his children and grandchildren.

David enjoyed poker and golf with his friends and he was an avid sports fan especially the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. He listened to all genres of music and loved dancing the jitterbug!

David was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School and attended Vanderbilt University where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  Due to his participation in ROTC at Vanderbilt he completed two years of service in the Army at Fort Benning, Georgia, and became a 1 st Lieutenant.  After graduation he began working with his father and his brother at Siebert News Agency. As Vice President of Siebert’s David was instrumental in growing the company with the addition of records, tapes and cassettes.   When they decided to sell the business, David and Suzanne moved to New Orleans and then to Las Vegas before moving back to Little Rock.

David enjoyed life to the fullest and would be the first to tell you that “I’ve had a good life."

David is survived by his wife, Suzanne Guest Siebert; brother, Allan Siebert; Joyce Siebert Halley and  children, Christine Bailey Phelan (Greg ); Tanya Siebert Dowda (Rick); David Harmon (Sally);  Daniel Harmon Angelo (Jim); Dallas Harmon (Sherry);  Dennis Harmon McElvey (Erin); Keila Guest Stovall (Jay) and  grandchildren, August Bailey, Elizabeth Bailey, Colin Dowda, Ty Dowda, Conley Dowda, Fletcher Angelo, Luke Angelo, Matt Harmon, Billie Harmon, Belle McElvey, Jones McElvey, Jay Stovall, Jerry Stovall, Elizabeth Stovall and many friends.
