Many have said that anyone who met David Scott Martin loved him. That loved surrounded him as he passed peacefully into the arms of God on July 4, 2019. David was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and a proud employee of the TEC Electric family where he worked for over 20 years.
David was born May 29, 1974 and married the love of his life, Jennie Pozza, on June 2, 1995. David and Jennie met and fell in love in high school. In their 24 years of marriage, they lived the life that storybooks are made of – building on a foundation of unconditional love to create a beautiful life together. Their marriage was full of laughter, passion, trust, support, and deep abiding friendship. In his final days, Jennie gave him the most comfort with her unrelenting love and attention. He would reach out for her hand and gaze at her with a fierce love that confirmed their devotion to each other.
The second love of his life, Nathan, was born February 20, 2001. David discovered his son’s natural talent for golf when he was very young. David was always his number one supporter and fan. His face beamed with joy at each new accomplishment. One of David’s proudest moments was watching Nathan graduate from high school with a golf scholarship from Williams Baptist University. David never passed up a moment to share his pride and love for his son with others including small stories about Nathan’s loving spirit which is a true reflection of David and Jennie’s love.
From the day David learned Glioblastoma had invaded his body, he was determined to stay positive. He continued to live, love, and laugh despite his daily struggles. He served as a constant inspiration to his family and friends. His kindness and humor always remained, offering comfort and smiles to those that surrounded him. He focused on living each day and appreciating the blessings God bestowed upon him.
David is survived by his loving family, Jennie and Nathan, his in-laws, Rick and Julie Pozza, Richard and Amy (Ty, Cara, her fiancé Cody Hogg, and their daughter Evey) and Chris and Jackie (Ryanne and Jase). He is also survived by his parents, John and Sandy Martin, his brothers, Ken (Karen), Steve (Chris), Matt (Sally), and various nieces and nephews. He is also survived by an endless list of Superhero Sidekicks and a host of beloved family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Shirley Ong and the caring staff at UAMS along with the remarkable staff at Arkansas Hospice. Donations can be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in North Little Rock.
