David Ryan

David Michael (Mick) Ryan, 68, retired USAF Major, of Maumelle, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his home. Born April 8, 1940 in Huntington, West Virginia, he was the son of David (deceased) and Edith Ryan. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Stephens Ryan and two children: daughter, Kelly Ryan Kegans (and Mark) of Des Moines, Iowa and son, Danny Ryan of Harrison, Arkansas; one grandchild, Evan Kegans of Des Moines; mother, Edith Ryan and one brother, Pat Ryan (Mary), both of Covington, Virginia.
After attending Marshall University in Huntington, Mick graduated from the Air Force's Aviation Cadets, Navigator School, Electronic Warfare Officers' School, pilot training, and C-130 training. After two tours in Vietnam and 20 years in the Air Force, he retired to Arkansas. There, he began another 25 year career with his wife, Carol, owning Scott-Garrett Florist of North Little Rock.
The family is thankful for the excellent treatment of the doctors and nurses of UAMS-7C, 7E and 7A and the Myeloma Institute, and for the compassion of Arkansas Hospice.
Services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock, with Chaplain Patricia Singer of Arkansas Hospice.
Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 8:30 a.m.
