David Ray Willingham, age 68, of Royal, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021.
He was born on August 22, 1952, in Hot Springs, the son of Arnold Willingham and Janet Hall Willingham. He is preceded in death by his father; and the mother of his children, Patricia Willingham.
David was a United States Navy veteran and an electronic repair man. He loved people, the outdoors, especially fishing, and he could cook. He was a great story teller and guitarist and we loved to listen to him. Most of all he loved his family, especially the grandchildren, who were each the apple of his eye. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Willingham of Royal; his mother, Janet Cook; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca and Jose Hernandez of Kansas City, Kansas, LaDonna and Richard West of Marion, Kansas and Julia Garrison of Florida; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Aaron, Elvis, Celeste, Eden, Lacey and Makayla; two brothers, Mike Willingham and Steve Willingham; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Joe Scherry of Ft. Smith; one beloved sister-in-law, Rebecca Dickson of Hot Springs; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
There will be a family conducted memorial service on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Avery Park, Blakley Dam, in Mountain Pine.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
