David R. Cooley

David R. Cooley, age 74, of Glenwood, died Thursday, October 6, 2011. He was born on December 27, 1936, at Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Carl Cooley and Clare Sales Cooley. He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Arla Jane Cooley; and his grandson. He was a member of Trinity Holiness Church and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kay Smith Cooley of Glenwood; one son, David Charles Cooley of Richardson, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Karla and Gary Ledbetter and Suzan Cooley, all of Glenwood; three grandchildren, Britain Ledbetter, Katie Cooley and Cole Cooley; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 9, 2011, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Sammy Cottrell and Bro. Tommy McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Kenny Ray McGrew, Bro. Kenny Ray McGrew, Bro. Tracy Welch and his brothers-in-law, Raymond Smith, Bill Smith and Bacil Smith. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
