David "Earl" Padgett, of North Little Rock, born November 25, 1928, left this life to be with God on August 9, 2006 after a lengthy illness and stay at Arkansas Hospice in North Little Rock, with his wife by his side.
Cherishing his memory is his wife of 57 years, Otheda (Battles) Padgett, a son David Kerwin Padgett and wife Kim of Spring, Texas, a daughter Karla Sheets and husband Kelly of Pocahontas, two special granddaughters Elise Padgett, in college at Abilene Christian, and Haley at home in Spring, a sister Gerline Baker and husband Ray of Jacksonville, and a sister-in-law Charlene Battles of North Little Rock.
Earl is preceded in death by his father and mother, Carl and Minnie Padgett, brothers John Dale and Marvin Padgett, and sister Ruby Hudson.
Earl was a faithful Christian and member of the Levy Church of Christ for 48 years, serving for many years as deacon.
Earl coached baseball at Burns Park and Junior Deputy for many years, was an avid golfer at Camp Robinson's Duffer's Club, and continued to cherish and replay those good times and rounds in his mind till his passing.
The family wishes to thank Arkansas Hospice, their physician staff of Dr. Stanley, Dr. Bird, Dr. Dyer and Dr. Thompson, and the special nurses and CNA's for their tender care and kindness during his stay.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with a 1:30 P.M., graveside service at Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy, Arkansas. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
