David McEntire

David L. McEntire, born on September 3, 1939, in Star City, Arkansas, passed away on July 24, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He lived a remarkable life filled with dedication and compassion.

David served his country in the U.S Army from 1957 to 1960 before embarking on a successful career in bookkeeping and accounting. He worked for Olin Corporation for 20 years and then managed the State of Arkansas retirement system for another 15 years. During this time, he earned his Bachelor's from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in Accounting. His professionalism, commitment, work ethic, and acts of service left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is lovingly remembered by his son Scott McEntire, sister Robbie Hoyt; granddaughter Kwynn McEntire; grandsons Konner McEntire and Justin Conley. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of extended family and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness.

David is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Louise J. McEntire, parents Joseph and Ruth McEntire, and grandson Kyler McEntire.

Services to honor and celebrate David's life will be held at the Smith Family Funeral Home in Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will take place on July 30, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on July 31, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM with the Burial following at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Bryant at 11:00 AM.
