David Martin

David Harold Martin, Sr., of Hensley, passed away July 19, 2015. He was born November 7, 1938 in Little Rock, to the late John and Jessie Crow Martin. David worked for Safeway/Harvest Foods and retired after 25 years of service. He was currently working for the City of Little Rock and a member of the Teamsters Union. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved to garden, avid CASE knife collector and took great pride in his three boys!
He married his wife, Geneva Gail Martin September 19, 1980 and was happily married for 35 years.
David is survived by his wife Gail; children: Kenneth Martin and Fiancé, Ruth Pardue of Des Arc and Justin Martin and wife, Tiffany Martin of Sherwood; siblings: Violet (John) Breeding, Juanita (Snookie) Williams, Gracie Binz, Lorene (James) Carpenter, Floyd (Barbara) Martin, John Herman (Kathy) Martin, Roy (Laverne) Martin, Walter (Carol) Martin and Irvin Martin.
He was preceded in death by his son: David "Chunky" Martin, Jr.; parents; and sibling: William "Bill" Martin.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Weeden Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
