David Lee Langley

David L. “Doc” Langley, 84, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died Friday, February 23, 2024, in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas.

He was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Norman and Lillie Roberson Langley.

David started as a young boy playing baseball. He played throughout his college years at Henderson College. He, then, attended UAMS School of Pharmacy. He retired from JL McClellan Veteran’s Hospital.

He was an avid fisherman from a young age, and he continued that throughout his life. He won multiple tournaments winning money, boats and trucks. If he wasn’t working, he was fishing every day.

David’s proudest moment in fishing was when he won The Governor’s Cup fishing tournament.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Norma Jean (Jim) Lide.

Left to cherish his memory are Donna Kay Cochran, whom was his partner in life; Danny Gwinn, who he called on for everything; Tonya and Bill Burrough and Greg Cochran.

At David’s request, there will be no service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Smith Family Funeral Home, 517 Clay Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923. www.smithfamilycares.com
