David Allen Jacques

David Allen Jacques, 73, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at his home.

He was born May 27, 1950, in Blytheville, Arkansas, to Robert Edward Jacques and Katie Louise Lambert Jacques.

His favorite hobby was homing pigeons which he began at a young age.  He continued to enjoy his pigeons into adulthood.

David was a proud graduate of The Blytheville High School Class of 1968.  He was also part of the first graduating class of Mississippi County Community College.

Although he called Blytheville home, he had resided in Hot Springs for forty-one years. We affectionately called him the “Teflon Man” for surviving so many falls and scrapes.  During his working years, he was the “Tin Man” as a salesman in the home improvement industry.

His debts were paid when he accepted Christ and was baptized on July 5, 2009, along with two of his grandchildren, at Oaklawn Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Ginger Denise Jacques Henson; his brother, Kenneth and his nephews, Brian and Michael Jacques.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-four years, Christi Worley Jacques; his daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Brad Hansen; his son and daughter-in-law, James “J.J.” and Tammy Jacques; his son-in-love, Chris Henson; his seven grandchildren: Brianna (Dylan) Evants, Aidan Hansen, Katie (Mack) James, Kristen Henson, Kevin Henson, Jacob Jacques and Taylor Jacques; his brother, Robert “Bob” Jacques; his sister, Rhonda Huckabee and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hot Springs.

David’s funeral service will be held Friday June 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Hot Springs Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Aidan Hansen, Jacob Jacques, Kevin Henson, Dylan Evants and Mack James.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Blytheville High School Class of 1968.

A special thanks is given to Debbie, his caregiver with Area Agency on Aging, Lifenet Employees and Dierksen Hospice.

Memorials may be made to The Caring Place, Oaklawn Baptist Church, The CALL, Our Promise Cancer Resources or a charity of your choice.
