David Howard
David L. Howard, 74, of Alexander passed away on Wednesday July 24, 2019 with family by his side. David was born December 18, 1944 to the late Talmadge and Pauline (Smith) Howard in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
David was Christian by faith, and he loved his family dearly and spending time with them was his favorite thing, but he never met a stranger. He also enjoyed being outside hunting with both gun and bow and fishing and even mastered the art of "Dutch Oven" cooking and grilling. David also piloted small air crafts and enjoyed photography and bowling.
David as a young man worked for thirty one years for Borden Dairy. He later opened his own business that he was very proud of, "Howard's Janitorial Service", before going on to work at the CADC from which he retired.
David is preceded in death by one brother: Larry Howard. He is survived by his loving wife of fourteen years, Charlene Howard; three sons: Gary Howard and wife Tonya of Cabot, AR, Mark Howard of Rison, AR and Preston Howard of Marianna, AR; two step daughters: Brenda Johnson and husband Glen of Alexander, AR and Sandra Holcombe of Alexander; five grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and fourteen step great-grandchildren; one sister: Kansie Howard of Little Rock, one sister-in-law, Dianne Howard, of Fayetteville, AR, and a host of other family and friends who will miss him greatly.
Visitation will be Monday July 29, 2019 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home from 6 - 8 PM. Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home with burial to follow at Ten Mile Cemetery with Bro. Marcus Blakley officiating.
