David Hawking

David William Hawking, 55, of Little Rock passed away Friday, February 5, 2010. He was born on January 18, 1955 in Canberra, Australia to William Douglas Hawking and Alice Margaret Bellchambers Hawking. David was an active member and Deacon of Little Rock's First Baptist Church. He was a Master Wood Craftsman working in the family window and door business in Australia. The family moved to America in 1987 where they continued manufacturing custom-made windows and doors out of western red cedar for homes, businesses and churches throughout the South. In 2005, the family business, Styleline, Inc., closed. At that time David began working at the Chenal Wal-Mart Store where he was employed as the Department Manager of Hardware.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Hawking; sons, Steven and Mark Hawking all of Little Rock; his mum, Alice Margaret Hawking of Sherwood; brothers, John Hawking (Lynn), Mike Hawking, of Sherwood, and Peter Hawking (Maury), of Baton Rouge, LA, plus numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much. David was predeceased by his father and brother, Paul Hawking.
Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (NW corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd) Little Rock, AR 72205. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Little Rock's First Baptist Church, 62 Pleasant Valley Dr, Little Rock, AR, officiated by Dr. Jim Lagrone and Dr. John Wright. Entombment will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock, AR. Memorials may be made to the David Hawking special fund at First Baptist Church.
