David Hartzell

David Gerard Hartzell, Sr., of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2018. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 22, 1955, the third of six children born to Margie and Donald Hartzell. David graduated from Catholic High School and was very proud of his time there. He was known to be a brilliant skit writer and prankster, leaving his classmates in stitches. He received a scholarship to Tulane University in New Orleans, from which he graduated with honors in Finance. He received his CFP and his 25 year career in the brokerage business there in New Orleans. Upon retirement he returned to Little Rock.

David was an avid lover of history and music. He was also a passionate follower of all sports, especially the Cardinals, Saints and his Razorbacks! David could tell a story like no one else. His laughter and sense of humor was contagious. He was very spiritual and an outstanding teacher. His children were the light of his life, and he said to always live by the words of McCartney, "Let it be..."

Preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Daniel and Nathan Hartzell, David is survived by his loving siblings, Michael Hartzell, Donna Green and twin sister, Debbie Glasgow; three children, Lauren Meilleur (Chris), David Hartzell, Jr. (Ashley) and Natalie Hartzell, along with their mother, Judith Sansone Hartzell; and four grandchildren, Avarie, Molly, Jack and Emma, all of whom reside in Louisiana.

Visitation will be Friday, January 5, beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Rosary, at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Catholic High School for Boys, 6300 Father Tribou St., Little Rock, AR 72205.
