David Greenwood

David Henry Greenwood of North Little Rock, Arkansas, departed this life on May 5, 2014. He was born into the Serafin family on August 8, 1942. He became the adopted son of Claire M. (Bourbonnaise) and Arthur E. Greenwood.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers John Glanville of Baldwin, FL and Robert W. Serafin of Fitchburg, MA.

Left to cherish his memories are his children: Denise (Timothy) Loken of Maumelle, AR, D. Michael Greenwood of Atlanta, GA, Deborah (Travis) Barker of Lyndhurst, OH, and Donald Greenwood of Jeffersonville, IN, and his sister, Lucia (Thomas) Hill of Parma, OH. He had 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

David spent much of his childhood in an orphanage, but once adopted he grew up in Pittsfield, MA and later attended Boston College. He moved to Ohio and raised his family in the Cleveland area. David worked hard his whole life. He started out at Cleveland Pneumatic Tool Co as a tool maker and transitioned into N/C Programming where he became a true expert in multi-axis machining. He also spent many years at TRW and did independent contract work to provide for his family.

He found a love for sailing and spent many years racing sailboats on Lake Erie and the Pacific Ocean. Upon retiring he moved to Arkansas and found he loved the people and the weather. He was finally able to spend more time with family as he got older. Later he became a member of the Grande Maumelle Sailing Club where he served on the Race Committee.

In 2005, a Liver/Kidney transplant forced him to retire from sailing. But he kept active by walking and swimming. He was known for his summer road trips where he visited with friends and family across the country. He will be truly missed by all.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 905 Kierre Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to (ARORA) Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency, 1701 Aldersgate Rd, Little Rock, Arkansas. 72205.
