David Basham
David Andrew "Drew" Basham, 64, of Little Rock, gained a new freedom as he went to be with His Lord on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Born in Little Rock to Charles David and Desha "Dee" Clayton Basham, Drew was a commercial realtor and member of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, Sigma Nu Fraternity, CCIM/National Association of Realtors and Little Rock Board of Realtors.
Preceded in death by his father, Drew is survived by a loving wife of nearly 34 years, Leslie Basham; children, Claire Ward (Alec) of Fayetteville and James Basham of New York; his mother, Dee Basham of Little Rock; brother, Chuck Basham (Kay) of Little Rock; sister, Beverly Kinley (Jeff) of Harrison; niece, Conly Basham (Daniel Self) of Berkeley, California; nephews, Clayton Kinley (Meagan), Stuart Kinley and Davis Kinley (Michaela); and a host of other family and friends.
Drew attended Hall High School (1970-74) and the University of Arkansas (1974-79). He was in the inaugural class of Leadership-Greater Little Rock (1985); President of the Arkansas Chapter of CCIM (1990); one of the Arkansas Jaycees Ten Outstanding Young Arkansans (1991) and President of the Little Rock Board of Realtors (2011). He was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church, volunteer with the Little Rock Rescue Mission, the Warrior Club of Little Rock Christian Academy and a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Drew suffered with the symptoms from two neuro-degenerative diseases, called Fronto-Temporal Dementia (FTD) and Supra-Nuclear Palsy(PSP), which slowly took him away from his family, friends and meaningful work. He was the epitome of bravery to the very end.
The service to honor Drew's life will be Monday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Fellowship Bible Church with visitation afterward, officiated by Pastor Brandon Barnard.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to AFTD.org, Alzheimer's Arkansas or Arkansas Hospice.
