David Brandon Alexander, 62 of Little Rock, AR passed suddenly on January 10, 2015. David was born November 26, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of Anderson B. "Tex" Alexander and Lucille Smith Alexander. He spent many years as a zoo keeper at the Knoxville Zoo in TN and the Little Rock Zoo. When deciding to further his education, he studied at UALR and obtained his law degree from UALR Law School in May of 2000. He worked for the state of Arkansas as an attorney with the Department of Finance and Administration until he retired September 30, 2014. He enjoyed studying genealogy, photography, music and plants. He loved to travel and loved more than anything to share his knowledge with others.
David was preceded in death by his parents Tex and Lucille Alexander. He is survived by two sisters, Marsha Ann Stagner of Jacksonville and Katherine Lee Hayford of Jasper; one brother Robert Rayford Alexander (wife Sheila), of Sweet Briar, Virginia, nieces and nephews Mike Stagner, Raymond Hayford (wife Susan), James Stagner, Rebekah Harrison (husband Jody), Kimberly Summerford (husband Joe), and great-nieces and great-nephews: Kristian, Kayla, Matthew, Austin, Samantha, Jonathan, Tia, Dylan, Joey, Meadow, Morgan, Jesse, Carly, and Hazel.
Graveside services have been cancelled. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Temple B'nai Israel, 3700 N. Rodney Parham Rd, Little Rock, AR. Please visit
