Darrell Young

Darrell LeGere Shook Young, 88, of DeWitt, passed away on June 14, 2007. She was born on December 27, 1918 in Goodman, Mississippi, the only child of Robert P. and Tabitha Smith Shook, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clifton Laron Young.
Along with her husband, she was the co-owner and operator of Young?s Market in DeWitt for more than 30 years. She was the past president of the DeWitt PTA, past Cub Scout Leader and Brownie Scout Leader, Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, past member of the DeWitt Band Parents and a Sunday school teacher of numerous years. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors are two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Oneida Young of Crossett and Bill and Fran Young of Conway and a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jim Byers of DeWitt; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held.
