Darlene Jeanette Pate, age 78, of Bentonville, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
She was born on September 7, 1943, in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Paul Albert Nicholas and Ila May Burwell Nicholas. On December 30, 1968, she was married to the true love of her life, Enoch Pate. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was Baptist in her faith, who loved her Lord and Darlene’s most passionate wish was that anyone who did not know the Lord as their Savior, thru her witness, would find and receive their salvation. Darlene was an extremely talented seamstress, could decorate the most beautiful cakes and had a gift for making gorgeous flower arrangements. She was also an awesome interior decorator, and loved to decorate during the holidays, especially at Christmas time, when she would turn every room into a dreamland, even putting up five Christmas trees throughout their house. Darlene’s daughter, LaDona, loved for her mother to do manicures and pedicures for her and now those will be her forever cherished memories.
Above all, Darlene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy in her life was taking care of her family. She was a fabulous cook and loved spending time spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Darlene will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her, but they now have peace in their hearts knowing that she no longer suffers and is now in the arms of her Savior and they will see her again someday soon.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Enoch Pate of Bentonville; her two sons and daughters-in-law, John “Bobby” and Rhonda Davis of Modesto, California and Paul and Jamie Pate of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her daughter, LaDona Arbuckle of Springdale; her ten grandchildren, Brittany, Madison, Seth, Avery, Gracie, Analise, Sawyer, Dustin, Luke and Mark; her two great-grandchildren, Richard and Anita; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 15, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home in Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Peak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Curry, Luke Arbuckle, John “Bobby” Davis and Paul Pate.
