Darlene Jones

Darlene Jones, 80, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away September 19, 2023. She was born September 28, 1942 in Booneville, Arkansas to the late Williby and Lorine Yarber.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Cristaldi; and granddaughters, Jessica Hendrix, Holly Mae Ellis, and Allison Hankins; as well as her former spouse, Harold Jones .

Darlene is survived by her daughters, Debbie Riggs (Ricky), Brenda Gilbert, Teresa Metcalf (Scott), and Lisa Browning (David); grandchildren, Derenda Washington (Aaron), Tony Spillers (Jo Anna), Gene Spillers (Andrea), Robert Ellis, III, Scott Ellis (Ashley), Jason Hendrix, Justin Hendrix (Sarah), Nicholas Metcalf (Jessica), Brittany Romine (Simon), Christina Knipe (Brad) and James Crutchfield (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Kimberly Baltzell (Alvin), Shawn Washington (Jasmin), Michael Washington, Alyssa Washington, Zachary Spillers, Gabriel Spillers, Isabella Spillers, Isaiah Spillers, Anna Spillers, Jayden Whitaker (Parker), Madisen Stone, Tyler Stone, Caleb Wolfe, Kaylee Watkins, Tabitha Ellis, Logan Ellis, Ava Adair, Silas Norton, Jake Ellis, Torin Hendrix, Caleb Hendrix, Lola Hendrix, Serenity Adams, Aubrey Hendrix, Lilly Hendrix, Corbin Hendrix, Trinitee Metcalf, Abbie Bunch, Katelyn George, Khloe Murphy, Justin Knipe, Presley Crutchfield, Kinley Crutchfield, Carson Crutchfield, Dannielle Riggs, Noah Romine and Nate Romine; great-great grandchildren, Londyn Baltzell, Scotlyn Baltzell, Nathaniel Baltzell, Jamison Baltzell, Bronx Baltzell, Izaiah Washington, Amelia Washington, and Kaydon Sallis; sisters, Carolyn Freeman, Teresa Heissler, and Jeannie Scott; brothers, Williby Yarber and Wendell Yarber; nephews, Steve Freeman (Chelle) and Clint Freeman (Cassie); along with a host of family and friends.

Darlene welcomed many foster children into her home whom she loved as her own. She spent her life taking care of others but always making time for her own family. She was fierce and a fighter and will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with burial following at Pleasant Hills Cemetery.
