Darla Jean Newell

Darla Jean Newell, age 71, of Hot Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

She was born on July 30, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel Franks and Bernice Scott Franks.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Darla was a great cook and loved to take care of her family.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Newell of Hot Springs; her son, Scott Newell of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren, Anthony Newell, Jordan Leonard, Erica Newell, Rachel Cummings, Aaron Newell, Nicolas Newell, Carina Newell, Cassidy Newell and Niki Newell; numerous great-grandchildren; her niece, Teresa Laliberte; her little Yorkie canine friend, Molly; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. 

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 13, 2022, with Bro. Buddy Leamons officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Hot Springs.

Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
