Daniel Lee Ashley

Daniel Lee Ashley, age 27, of Conway, died Monday, January 12, 2015, in an automobile accident. He was born in Hot Springs, on December 15, 1987, the eldest son of Dennie Lee Ashley and Lillian Elizabeth Neighbors Ashley. Daniel was an Eagle Scout and a 2006 graduate of Conway High School. He was an avid reader and a constant learner. In 2010, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Baylor University. He then attended Harding University and obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy and Masters of Business Administration in May of 2014. He worked as a pharmacist for Walmart. Daniel spent his life in service of others through scouting and medical mission work in Romania. He was a member and certified lecturer of Green Grove Masonic Lodge. He served as an Assistant Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 71 in Conway and was a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a mentor to many young scouts and spent countless hours and weekends camping and teaching. He was a beloved son and brother to his three younger siblings, Denise, David, and Diana. Above all, Daniel had strong faith in his Lord and Savior and inspired and taught others to do the same. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Drew and Lavern Ashley and Gerald and Tommie Sue Neighbors, and one uncle, Junior Ashley, all of Amity. He is survived by his parents, siblings and one brother-in-law; David Ashley and Diana Ashley, of Conway and Denise and Alex Baughn of Little Rock; five aunts and their spouses, many cousins, and countless friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 16, 2015, in the First Baptist Church of Conway with Dr. Dale Wicker officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the church in Conway. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery in Amity at 3:00 PM, Friday, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be the Boy Scouts of Troop 71.
