Daniel (Dan) Orin Flowers, 57, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sadie Mae and William Orin Flowers of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Willie Mae Beene and William Corbin Beene of Springhill, Louisiana, and by his brother-in-law, William E. (Gene) Orr of Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his parents, Parnell Beene Brunner of Hot Springs and Patrick and Justine Flowers of Cabot; his children Thomas Flowers (Jessica) of Little Rock; Alex Flowers of Rogers; and Cassie Flowers of Rogers; his grandchildren Vivian Flowers of Little Rock and Liam Gardner of Rogers; his siblings Cynthia Flowers Orr of Hot Springs; Patrick Flowers, Jr. (Lynn) of Hot Springs; Stephanie Brunner Livesay (Alex) of Nashville, Tennessee; Jeanmaire Brunner of Cabot; Ernie Flowers of Las Vegas, Nevada; Paul Flowers (Angie) of Corpus Christi, Texas; Michael Flowers (Lora) of Yuma, Arizona; and Joseph Flowers (Tracey) of Cabot. Dan is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Dan resided in Jacksonville with the love of his life, Sharri Bearden Stewart. He was employed by S&J Construction as a senior pipe estimator, and he considered Jerry Smith, the company's owner, a dear friend. Dan enjoyed attending family functions, fishing, hunting, and guiding duck hunts. His greatest joys in life were his children and his family.
"Dan the Man" fought cancer with courage, grace, and dignity. Humble and kind, he will be remembered as an exceptional man who loved his family and friends with all his heart.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 North Market Street in Benton, with visitation one hour prior to the service at 12:00 p.m.
